Sutherlin School District, serving over 1,400 students K-12 in a rural setting, is applying for a Student Investment Account grant to fund a three-year plan. The plan focuses on two primary purposes: meeting students' mental and behavioral health needs, and reducing disparities and increasing academic achievement for historically underserved students. Key strategies include increasing therapeutic support, hiring additional staff (instructional assistants, family liaisons, school nurse, PE teachers), expanding CTE opportunities, reducing class sizes, improving attendance, and investing in early learning. The district engaged community, staff, and students through forums, surveys, focus groups, and online outreach. The plan outlines outcomes, strategies, and activities aligned with community input and data analysis.
