Description
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is soliciting bids for the purchase, delivery, installation, and optional maintenance of two microfilm scanners and related components. These scanners are needed to enable the continued viewing, scanning, and preservation of microfilm and microfiche collections, ensuring researchers and the public have ongoing access to these historical records. The equipment must support viewing, scanning, printing, and digital image export capabilities for 16mm and 35mm roll film and microfiche, including positive and negative formats, with a minimum optical resolution of 300 DPI. Required features include image rotation, zoom, pan, image enhancement, and digital export in TIFF, PDF, and JPEG formats, with OCR capability for searchable output. The system must include scanning software, all necessary licenses, a monitor, keyboard, mouse, cables, and USB/network export capability. Only new equipment will be accepted, and all items must include the manufacturer's standard warranty. Optional maintenance agreements and extended warranty coverage may also be awarded for an initial one-year term, with potential for three additional one-year renewals.
