Description
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking a letter of interest from one eligible county Soil and Water Conservation District in the Lake Champlain Region to serve as Project Sponsor for the Champlain Watershed Improvement Coalition of New York. The selected district will administer a water-quality implementation program covering agricultural and non-agricultural nonpoint-source abatement and control projects in the Lake Champlain Watershed. Services must provide administrative and technical support resulting in implementation of Best Management Practice Systems and activities that reduce, abate, control, or prevent soil erosion and nonpoint-source pollution. Eligible applicants are the Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Warren, and Washington County Soil and Water Conservation Districts. Funding is identified as state and federal funding, including U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Lake Champlain Basin Program Grants.
