Description
Orange County's Office for the Aging Senior Dining Program is seeking qualified vendors to prepare, cook, chill, and deliver nutritious home-delivered meals to eligible residents aged 60 and over. The anticipated volume is approximately 50 meals per day, six days per week. Meals must comply with applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration food-safety requirements, dietary guidelines, specified nutritional standards, and common dietary restrictions. Vendors must provide ordering procedures, weekly menus, delivery schedules, participant scheduling, packaging that maintains food below 45 degrees Fahrenheit until delivery, and production dates on meals. The scope also includes produce boxes containing approximately 12 pounds of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables and pantry boxes containing shelf-stable, low- or no-sodium staple foods. Produce and pantry boxes are expected to be delivered twice annually to the Office for the Aging Central Kitchen. Bidders must submit pricing, business background and experience, a sample menu and delivery schedule, at least three client references, required certifications, applicable business documentation, and other specified forms. The initial contract term is one year, with two additional one-year renewal options and a possible short-term extension.
