Description
Aston Township is soliciting sealed bids for improvements at the intersection of Pennell Road, Concord Road, and Knowlton Road. The work includes a new traffic signal layout; traffic signal supports, controller, signal heads, accessible pedestrian signals, video detection, optical preemption, and lighting; underground conduit, wiring, junction boxes, and electrical service; fiber reconnection and fiber-optic equipment; relocation of a license plate reader system; removal of existing signal equipment; curb ramps, sidewalks, curbs, detectable warning surfaces, pavement markings, and related roadway restoration. The contractor must be PennDOT-prequalified for traffic signal work, and subcontractors must meet the applicable PennDOT prequalification requirements. The project is subject to Pennsylvania prevailing-wage requirements, approved PennDOT material sources, traffic-control requirements, and a 90-calendar-day completion period. A bid bond or certified check of at least 10% of the bid is required. The apparent three low bidders may be required to provide original bid forms within three days after bid opening; performance and labor-and-material bonds of 100% of the contract amount and a maintenance bond are required after award.
