Description
Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is soliciting a contractor to remove and properly dispose of 14 existing glass-block window assemblies at Settles Gymnasium, Building 17, and install 14 new exterior aluminum storefront window systems with impact-resistant insulated glazing. The work includes shop drawings, product data, installation planning, supplemental framing and supports, anchorage, perimeter waterproofing and flashing, interior air seals, weather protection, surface repairs, refinishing, permits, inspections, debris removal, and coordination with concurrent campus projects. An alternate proposal may provide a translucent fiberglass panel wall system instead of the storefront windows. The project is subject to a mandatory pre-response qualification phase and a subsequent qualified bid response. Respondents must be properly licensed in Florida and provide qualifications, experience, references, financial information, insurance, bid security, evidence of bonding capacity, and required state forms. The selected contractor must provide a 100% payment and performance bond before contract execution. Installation is scheduled between February 15 and April 16, 2027, with substantial completion required by April 5, 2027, and final completion by April 16, 2027.
