The City of Annapolis, Maryland is requesting Letters of Interest and Statements of Qualifications from qualified boat pilot operational firms to operate and maintain a passenger/bicycle water ferry service. The city will provide up to two diesel-electric water ferries, each 36-45 feet in length with integrated bicycle racks, at no lease cost. The operator will be responsible for all operating, insurance, and general maintenance costs, as well as providing dockage for the vessels. Services include safe operation, routine maintenance, fuel and supplies, repairs, winterization, hiring and training of licensed personnel, and marketing services including reservations and promotions. The ferry will operate at least three days per week (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from April through October, with initial routes from City Dock to Eastport at 5th Street, and later routes to Hawkins Cove and Carr's Beach.
