Description
Marble Falls Independent School District is soliciting Funding Year 2027 proposals for a self-provisioned network using 6 to 12 fiber strands between Marble Falls Middle School and Spicewood Elementary School, as well as equivalent services over third-party networks with bandwidth from 5 to 10 Gbps. The district is also seeking network equipment, software and licenses, installation and initial configuration, Category One maintenance and operations, and basic maintenance of internal connections, including two switches. Bids should include equipment to light dark fiber, separate one-time special construction charges from recurring costs, address scalability, and provide options for voluntary contract extensions and installment payments of eligible special-construction costs over up to four years. The district will compare self-provisioned and third-party WAN options based primarily on price, compatibility with existing infrastructure, K-12 experience, and technical-support capabilities. Maintenance proposals must describe fiber inspection, outage response, repair, testing, service levels, utility coordination, customer notification, moves/adds/changes, and locate-request procedures. Proposals must be submitted through the electronic RFP system by the stated close date, and vendors must have a valid SPIN or temporary SPIN and comply with applicable E-Rate and Texas Education Agency purchasing requirements.
