Description
North East Independent School District is soliciting a multi-year contract for district-wide snack vending services. The awarded contractor must furnish, install, stock, operate, maintain, repair, refill, and ultimately remove vending machines at designated middle schools, high schools, elementary-school teachers’ lounges, administrative offices, and satellite facilities. The scope includes approximately 67 district locations and 7–10 satellite locations, with the District retaining control over machine quantities and placement. Two satellite facilities may also require food vending machines for sandwiches, soups, burritos, hot pockets, and similar meals. Snack products must comply with USDA and District nutrition standards, including limits on calories, sodium, fat, saturated fat, trans fat, and sugar, and must include nutrition labels and receive prior written approval. Beverage products are not accepted. Machines must be new or reconditioned, energy efficient, equipped with dollar-bill changers, credit/debit card readers, and student-access lockouts or timers. The contractor must provide service within 24 hours, same-day refills when requested before 3:00 p.m., monthly activity reports, proposed commission and remuneration schedules, incentives, and three references for substantially similar projects. The contract is anticipated to have a three-year initial term with two additional one-year renewals, for a maximum of five years.
