Description
This Request for Information seeks market information from vendors able to provide one multiengine turbojet aircraft for the U.S. Wildland Fire Service Aerial Supervision Module Leadplane program. The aircraft would support aerial supervision of wildland-fire incidents, including coordination and leadership of air tankers and transportation of personnel or cargo, and would operate throughout the contiguous United States, Alaska, and occasionally Canada and Mexico. The contractor would provide the aircraft, an instructor pilot, insurance, and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance needed to keep the aircraft airworthy under Federal Aviation Administration regulations and Department of the Interior policy. The government would provide the Leadplane-qualified pilot and fuel. Required aircraft capabilities include single-pilot certification, standard airworthiness certification, IFR/VFR day-and-night operation, known-icing certification, seating for one pilot and four passengers, specified payload and performance capabilities, and operation from a 4,000-foot runway at 3,000 feet pressure altitude and ISA +37 degrees Celsius.
