Description
The West Virginia Parkways Authority intends to award a sole-source contract for two Ver-Mac TM-548 truck-mounted full-matrix message boards with slim power racks and two VMS-A15 bed floor racks, plus freight. The equipment is intended to provide real-time traffic information using moving graphics, characters, and other displays on intersections and roads. The Authority states that its existing fleet uses A & A Safety/Ver-Mac message board systems and requires compatibility and standardization to maintain interoperability, continuity of operations, and existing training and maintenance practices. Vendors proposing alternatives must provide written notification and sufficient technical documentation demonstrating complete compatibility without modifying the existing fleet or interrupting service.
