Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, on behalf of Federal Prison Camp Alderson, is procuring one industrial composting system with delivery, on-site installation, and on-site vocational instruction for staff and inmate workers. The system will process mixed organic waste, including food waste, shredded paper, lawn clippings, and leaves, at a minimum capacity of one cubic yard per day and produce usable compost for institutional horticultural programs. The proposed system must support frequent or continuous waste additions, operate reliably indoors and outdoors, provide efficient loading mechanisms, and include safety features that protect operators from injury, unauthorized access, internal mechanisms, and heat. Vendors must provide estimated or average electrical consumption and sufficient technical information, including a completed Specifications Matrix, to demonstrate compliance. Award is expected as a single purchase order using lowest price technically acceptable evaluation.
