The Board of Education of the Bedford Central School District, in accordance with Section 103 of Article 5-A of the General Municipal Law, hereby invites the submission of sealed bids from reputable and qualified contractors for the provision of service and materials for the following contract: CONTRACT FOR: REFUSE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION 26/27-BCSD-001 DUE: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2026 AT 2:00PM EST Bids will be received until the above stated hour of prevailing time and date at the School District Purchasing Office, 632 South Bedford Road, Bedford, NY 10506 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read. Specifications and bid forms may be obtained electronically via email request, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00a.m.and 3:00p.m., excluding holidays as well as on the District website www.bcsdny.org as well as on the Empire State Purchasing Group https://www.bidnetdirect.com/new-york. Please contact the Purchasing Office with questions at 914-241-6194or via e-mail at lleone2551@bcsdny.org. Bids must be presented on the proposal forms in the manner designated therein and as required by the specifications. All bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the Proposers, Company Name, Bid Title, Due Date and Time. The Board of Education reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids, or to accept that bid which, in the Board of Education's judgment, is in the best interest of the School District. Description
The Bedford Central School District is soliciting formal sealed bids for district-wide refuse and recycling collection at its administration building, transportation and grounds facilities, and schools. Addendum 5 confirms that the updated scope requires trash collection, single-stream recycling collection at the listed locations, periodic additional trash pickups within 24 hours of request, and roll-off containers for cleanup projects involving nonhazardous construction debris. The district will disregard the former separated-recycling proposal and all items associated with Bid Proposal 2. Pricing is requested for annual trash and single-stream recycling services, additional pickups priced per cubic yard, and 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-cubic-yard roll-off containers, including maximum weights and overweight charges. The contract has a one-year initial term with three available one-year extensions. Bids are evaluated on an all-or-none basis, insurance is required, and the district prefers one vendor for the complete scope. Addendum 5 must be signed, included in the bid proposal, and acknowledged by email.
