The Federal Highway Administration’s Western Federal Lands Highway Division is planning a firm-fixed-price task order for reconstruction of approximately 0.7 miles of Grand Loop Road and the Norris Geyser Basin parking area in Yellowstone National Park. The estimated price range is $45 million to $55 million, with tentative completion in fall 2028. The work includes roadway reconstruction, excavation and controlled rock blasting, rock scaling, embankment, erosion and drainage improvements, mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls, rock bolts and dowels, stone masonry, utility relocation, waterline and sanitary sewer work, boardwalk construction, aggregate base, asphalt paving, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks and paved medians, traffic control, pavement markings, signage, landscaping, and related roadside improvements. The project is expected to be solicited in winter 2026/2027 exclusively to contractors holding Yellowstone/Grand Teton Multiple Award Task Order Contract positions; the current notice is a presolicitation and does not yet contain the final proposal requirements.
