Description
The City seeks qualifications from professional artists, independent curators, and curators representing nonprofit arts organizations to create a temporary outdoor public art exhibition at a landscaped traffic median. The exhibition may use existing sculpture, newly fabricated artwork, or a combination, and must be suitable for outdoor display and withstand natural weather conditions. Hard-wired electrical access is not available; simple plug-in electricity is available at the site. Applicants must submit a cover letter, a CV or résumé, and a visual portfolio of up to 10 completed projects, along with general contact information and acknowledgment of the contract terms and conditions through the application. Proposals are not required at this initial qualification stage. Three semifinalists will receive $3,000 each to develop and present a proposal, including artwork renderings or photographs, a project narrative, and an all-inclusive line-item budget. The selected artist will be commissioned to submit a final art plan under a not-to-exceed budget of $72,000.
