Description
The City of Emporia, Kansas, is soliciting bids for the rehabilitation of the apron at Emporia Municipal Airport under KDOT Project No. AV-2026-14 and Egis Project No. 12365 TO05/TO06. The base bid includes full and partial concrete pavement panel removal and replacement, unsuitable base removal and replacement, joint cleaning and resealing, crack sealing, joint spall and concrete pop-out repairs, aggregate base course, concrete pavement placement, pavement marking removal and installation, and installation of nine aircraft tie-down anchors. The work also includes mobilization, temporary markings, lighting, barricades, airport safety and phasing measures, erosion control, seeding, haul-route restoration, quality-control testing, and compliance with FAA airport-construction requirements. Construction is planned in three phases over a total contract performance period of 50 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed: Phase 1 is limited to 20 calendar days, Phase 2 to 30 calendar days, and Phase 3 to 10 calendar days concurrent with Phase 2. The airport is expected to remain open during construction, with portions of the aprons and taxiways closed by phase. A bid bond of at least 5% of the total bid is required, and performance and payment bonds each must equal 100% of the contract price.
