Submission Instructions
Description
The Arkansas Department of Transportation is soliciting solid complex chloride and mineral products for winter ice removal. Products must be produced from natural sodium chloride deposits, contain specified mixtures of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium chlorides, meet detailed chemical composition and gradation requirements, and remain active at temperatures of 5°F or lower. Liquid solutions are not acceptable. Materials must be delivered statewide in super sacks containing no more than 2,500 pounds each or in bulk when requested. Sacks must identify the manufacturer and net weight, and bulk deliveries require certified analysis of total chloride content. Products are subject to sampling, testing, inspection, and rejection if they fail the specifications or are not received in free-flowing, usable condition.
