Description
Lexington County is soliciting competitive bids from South Carolina Department of Transportation-approved contractors to convert Hass Lucas Road from dirt to pavement. The work includes clearing and grubbing, excavation and grading, aggregate base courses, hot-mix asphalt surface and intermediate courses, driveway paving, traffic maintenance, pavement markings, raised pavement markers, pipe culverts, riprap, fencing, vegetation, and erosion-control measures. The contractor must also coordinate and relocate Gaston Rural Water District's existing six-inch water line, maintain traffic, provide construction staking and quality-control testing, comply with SCDOT specifications and applicable permits, and implement erosion and sedimentation controls. A five-percent bid/proposal bond is required with the response; performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of the contract are required if the bid exceeds $50,000. The solicitation requires online submission through the County's e-procurement system, attendance at the mandatory pre-bid meeting, and submission of the specified bid forms, affidavits, certificate of insurance, and bid security.
