Los Alamos National Laboratory has developed a family of PFAS-free sulfonated poly(norbornene) ionomeric binders for use as electrode ionomers in proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells and water electrolyzers. These binders offer strong proton conductivity, do not poison precious-metal catalysts, and can be chemically tuned to prevent electrode flooding. The technology is at TRL 4 and a U.S. patent is pending. This is a technology licensing opportunity, not a procurement for services.
