Description
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is issuing a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Advanced Metal Castings Research & Development (R&D) Requirement Program. The program aims to develop innovative solutions to reduce DLA backorders for items containing metal castings and improve the quality, productivity, technology, and business practices of the metal casting industry. Key focus areas include Procurement Solutions (tools for timely and cost-effective acquisitions of parts with metal castings content, streamlining supply chains, and enhancing tooling data) and Manufacturing Technologies (innovative casting technologies, new alloys, die materials, coatings, Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, robotics, automation, and workforce development). The BAA is open for five years with a ceiling of $90 million. Awards will be cost-type contracts (cost, cost-sharing, or cost-plus-fixed-fee). Offerors must first submit a White Paper; if of interest, DLA will request technical and cost proposals.
