Description
The San Antonio Water System is soliciting bids for an annual, as-needed supply contract for new water meter valve lock systems, including all installation, operation, and removal components and the corresponding proprietary key tool. The locks must secure customer service valves and water meters against unauthorized operation, tampering, removal, or restoration of service, withstand outdoor and corrosive conditions, and accommodate multiple valve types without modifying existing service-line equipment. Bidders must identify the manufacturer and part number for each item quoted. The solicitation identifies McGard Viper Lock 141012, several McGard Valve Lock models, and McGard Key 110040 as approved products, while approved equals require written authorization through an addendum before the bid deadline. The contract has a one-year term beginning January 1, 2027, with up to four additional one-year renewals and possible month-to-month extensions of up to six months. Award will be made to the responsive, responsible bidder offering the lowest overall price; quantities are estimates and purchases will be made as needed by purchase order.
