Los Alamos National Laboratory is offering a technology licensing opportunity for the UltraSep acoustic separation platform. UltraSep is an intelligent ultrasonic separation system that uses real-time eigenfrequency resonance locking and ultra-low power energy optimization to perform solid-liquid separation. It replaces centrifugation and filtration with precision-controlled acoustic forces, reducing power consumption and mechanical complexity. The platform includes patented resonance-based acoustic control, energy-per-removal optimization, chemistry-enhanced separation, and proprietary control software. Market applications include nuclear materials processing, rare earth and critical mineral recovery, industrial solid-liquid separation, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical processing, bioprocessing, environmental remediation, and high-value particle recovery. The IP portfolio includes issued U.S. patents expiring between 2037 and 2039, a pending patent application, and copyrighted software.
