Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to establish a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract with Hologic Sales and Service, LLC for reagents, assays, consumables, supplies, and related items used with government-owned Hologic ThinPrep 2000 instruments and a planned ThinPrep Genesis instrument. The items will support preparation of slides containing cellular material from Pap and body-fluid specimens for the Augusta VA Medical Center’s Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. The notice states that Hologic Sales and Service, LLC is the original equipment manufacturer and sole authorized source, and that compatible products are engineered and validated exclusively for Hologic instruments. This is a notice of intent rather than a request for competitive offers; responses are requested only to inform the Government’s decision whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The desired contract structure is a base period plus four option periods.
