Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure is soliciting construction services for an approximately 5,000-square-metre heavy-duty laydown area within the median right-of-way at the intersection of Provincial Trunk Highway 1 East and Freedom Road. The work is intended to support high-tonnage aggregate storage and heavy-truck staging while providing structural protection against seasonal freeze-thaw conditions. The listed work includes equipment mobilization, Level II traffic control, placement of approximately 4,500 metric tonnes of 300 mm-minus crushed rock, 1,100 metric tonnes each of CR-M50 and GBC-S materials, and installation of approximately 5,000 square metres of woven geotextile. The solicitation is identified as an Indigenous set-aside and uses competitive open bidding.
