Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, seeks a shipyard with a drydock to inspect, refurbish, and modify Barge 774, a 110-by-26-by-5-foot steel equipment barge. The contractor will transport the barge to its facility, drydock it, pressure-blast the hull, and conduct a thorough inspection. Work includes replacing the timber decking; repositioning spuds and fabricating and installing new spud wells; relocating winches and replacing wire rope; rerouting three-phase, 480-volt power to the winches; painting the hull; and extending or replacing the 30-foot spuds with 40-foot spuds. The contractor must also estimate any out-of-scope repairs needed to return the barge to full operational condition. The barge must be returned to its original location, with all work completed by April 1, 2027.
