Description
Trent University is seeking a vendor to design and build a custom vehicle known as the GeoBus, which will function as a mobile geospatial laboratory for educational and hands-on programming in underserved and disadvantaged communities across Canada. The vehicle may be an extended van, truck, recreational vehicle, or similar platform, must have a maximum gross vehicle weight below 11,000 kg, and must be suitable for year-round use on paved roads. Required features include eight computing workstations with 120-volt and 12-volt power, wall-mounted monitors, overhead cabinets, rear field-equipment storage with a workbench, server and networking cabinets, under-vehicle storage, a quiet generator, air conditioning, shore-power capability, a telescoping mast reaching at least 30 feet and supporting approximately 100 pounds, kitchenette space, an extractable canopy, and an exterior screen of approximately 60 inches. Trent University will supply the technology unless otherwise specified. The vendor must provide the vehicle design and fabrication, delivery by November 2027, warranty information, a fabrication process and schedule, manufacturing updates, and opportunities for university review during construction. Proponents must submit pricing, a completed Submission Form, references for comparable custom-build projects, technical requirements, warranty information, and custom-build experience materials.
