Description
Stone County School District seeks proposals for E-Rate Category 2 network infrastructure upgrades across its facilities. The scope includes Category 6 or higher cabling and fiber, network switches, wireless access points and controllers, UPS battery backups, installation and configuration, Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections (BMIC), and Managed Internal Broadband Services (MIBS). Vendors may propose for portions of the project or the full turnkey solution; preference will be given to turnkey proposals. Equipment must be new and purchased from an authorized reseller, and proposed alternatives must explain how they meet the district’s requirements. The RFP specifies a three-year term for internal connections equipment and cabling and for MIBS, from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2030. The MIBS scope is a block of hours for as-needed support of wired and wireless LAN infrastructure. Proposals are evaluated on price as the primary factor, along with technical specifications, staff certifications, support proximity and response time, vendor experience and references, and turnkey capability. At least three references for projects of similar scope and size are required. A mandatory vendor meeting and site visit is required to qualify to bid.
