Description
Jones County Conservation Board is offering a marked clearcut timber sale at Eby's Mill Conservation Area in Sections 1 and 2 of Scotch Grove Township. The sale includes approximately 1,546 trees plus 366 culls, totaling an estimated 375,070 board feet, including walnut, white oak, red oak, maple, hickory, aspen, black oak, elm, cherry, hackberry, cottonwood, and basswood. Sealed bids are due for opening on October 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The successful bidder must execute a timber sales contract within 14 days after receiving notice of award. The purchaser will have 16 months for cutting and removal, with harvesting permitted only from October 1 through March 1; all harvesting must be completed by March 1, 2028. The seller reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
