Description
The State of Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, through the State of Utah Division of Purchasing, is soliciting a prequalified contractor for approximately 1,137.6 acres of wildlife habitat improvement and wildland fire hazard reduction in Carbon and Emery Counties. The work involves removing pinyon and juniper with hand crew chainsaws or similar brush saws, bucking and scattering slash, and performing either full removal or thinning at or below 10 inches at collar height in designated treatment units. The contractor must furnish labor, supervision, transportation, equipment, fuel, safety support, GPS capability, and incidentals, including suitable four-wheel-drive vehicles, UTVs, or ATVs as needed. The work must be performed between October 12, 2026, and November 30, 2026, with completion required before the latter date unless an approved weather-related extension applies. The contractor must comply with detailed treatment, access, environmental, safety, supervision, inspection, cleanup, and restoration requirements. Bids are submitted on a per-acre basis and evaluated for award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Participation is limited to contractors on the current State of Utah Rangeland Prequalification List for the applicable treatment and acreage category.
