Description
The Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG) seeks proposals from invited consultant firms for professional transportation planning services supporting its Safe Streets and Roads for All grant. The selected consultant will evaluate 175 signal-related safety countermeasures at 111 signalized intersections identified in MAG’s 2024 Safety Action Plan, using a technically defensible methodology addressing safety benefits, operational impacts, construction feasibility, site constraints, cost-effectiveness, unintended consequences, and combined countermeasure effects. The work includes developing location-specific recommendations and prioritizing them for near-, medium-, and long-term implementation; coordinating with MAG, local governments, and the Utah Department of Transportation; preparing evaluation matrices, recommendation sheets, cost estimates, maps or GIS data, implementation guidance, performance-monitoring measures, and final technical documentation suitable for incorporation into the Safety Action Plan. The proposal narrative is limited to 15 pages, excluding the cover sheet, section breaks, and resumes. The contract must be completed by April 1, 2028, and the not-to-exceed budget is $200,000.
