Description
The General Services Administration’s Public Buildings Service anticipates soliciting a firm-fixed-price construction contract for court security improvements and related renovation work at an occupied federal building. The estimated project magnitude is $15 million to $20 million. Anticipated work includes building modifications and interior reconfiguration; security infrastructure and access-control improvements; architectural and structural work; and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-protection, communications, and life-safety system modifications. The contractor is expected to provide the labor, materials, equipment, supervision, coordination, and other resources needed to complete the work while coordinating around building operations and meeting applicable safety, security, and code requirements. The notice is a presolicitation only; the final scope, proposal requirements, evaluation criteria, site-visit details, and contract terms are to be provided in the forthcoming solicitation. A site visit is anticipated and stated to be required. The successful contractor will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, with details to be specified in the solicitation. Contractor personnel may also be subject to screening, background checks, badging, escorts, and other access controls.
