Description
The City of Amarillo is seeking a qualified stop-loss reinsurance carrier for its self-funded medical and prescription drug benefit plans. The requested coverage is individual stop-loss insurance for the 2027 plan year, with a January 1, 2027, effective date and a contract term through December 31, 2027. Proposers must provide coverage for medical and prescription drug claims and demonstrate the ability to reimburse eligible expenses exceeding the applicable specific deductible. Proposals must quote 24/12 coverage at individual stop-loss deductible levels of $750,000, $800,000, and $850,000, including an option for no new lasers upon renewal. The City does not purchase aggregate coverage. Respondents must complete all tabs of the provided stop-loss questionnaire, including carrier information, financial information, customer service, references, stop-loss terms, and rate or fee information. The questionnaire must be returned in Excel format, along with the respondent information and signature page, vendor acknowledgment form, bidder's proposal, and references template. Three governmental or regional-district references are required, and the proposal will be evaluated using price, service quality, responsiveness to the City's needs, past relationship, completeness, and vendor reputation and financial strength.
