Description
Edmonds School District is soliciting proposals for a fiber-optic network connecting its facilities. The scope includes a managed leased lit-fiber solution with dedicated, symmetrical bandwidth scalable from 10 Gbps to 25 Gbps; leased dark fiber with maintenance; required equipment to light the fiber; installation, configuration, testing, documentation, and related special construction; and transitional services while the new network is built. Vendors may bid on one or more service options and must provide firm pricing for future sites, additional fiber pulls and strands, relocations, bandwidth changes, and other network additions. The awarded contractor will be responsible for route design and construction, permits and rights-of-way, fiber installation and termination, equipment installation, manufacturer-certified work, monitoring, training, and ongoing maintenance. The maintenance agreement must cover the installed fiber plant, including routine and emergency maintenance, with specified outage-response and restoration commitments. Proposals must include the required appendices and attachment, pricing, contractor qualifications and capabilities, approach, experience, references, certifications, and a five-percent bid bond. The initial service term is 60 months with two optional one-year extensions, and construction is expected to begin around April 1, 2027, with substantial completion required within 76 calendar days after notice to proceed.
