Description
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has issued a Research Solutions Opening (RSO) to engage academic researchers in addressing challenging defense problems and to fund independent research ideas. This initiative aims to strengthen the DARPA Program Manager (PM) community by identifying researchers capable of pioneering revolutionary solutions and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The RSO is specifically limited to candidates eligible for the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) Mobility Program and proposals from accredited U.S. colleges and universities. The process involves a two-phase approach: first, the submission and evaluation of abstracts, followed by the submission of full proposals for those invited. The research thrust areas span Biological Technologies, Defense Sciences, Information Processing Techniques, MultiX, and Tactical Technology Offices, encouraging innovative approaches that lead to revolutionary advances rather than incremental improvements.
