Description
Lake County is soliciting sealed bids for construction of safety improvements on CR 565/Villa City Road from north of State Road 50 to south of U.S. Highway 27. The approximately 7.2-mile project includes roadway widening, eight-foot shoulders with a minimum four-foot paved portion, resurfacing of travel lanes, ground-in rumble strips, curve safety improvements with flashing beacons, pavement markings, guardrail improvements, drainage modifications, and ADA-compliant pedestrian facilities. Utility coordination and maintenance of traffic are required during construction. The bid includes a base segment from Lake Emma Road to Lake Arthur Road and two alternates covering Lake Arthur Road to U.S. Highway 27 and James Place to Lake Emma Road. Bidders must be FDOT-prequalified in Flexible Paving. A five-percent bid guarantee is required, and the successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100 percent of the contract amount. Responses must be submitted through the solicitation response portal; hand-delivered submissions are not accepted.
