Description
The City of Palm Springs is soliciting a contractor for construction improvements at its wastewater treatment plant. The work includes demolition of existing launder covers and clarifier walkways; fabrication and installation of aluminum flat covers over two existing 100-foot primary clarifiers; new launder covers, access hatches, safety railings, and support trusses; foul-air ductwork and tie-ins to the existing odor control system; rerouting of mechanical spray lines and electrical conduits; and associated structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, coating, testing, and commissioning work. The plant must remain operational throughout construction. Only one primary clarifier may be out of service at a time, the out-of-service clarifier must remain approximately 50 percent full, and it must be returned to service within 24 hours of City notification. The contractor must complete the work within 250 working days, maintain required safety and environmental controls, and provide a Class A California contractor's license, relevant experience on at least three comparable projects completed within the past seven years, a bid security, payment and performance bonds, and required bid forms and certifications.
