The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is soliciting applications for Cooperative Agriculture Agreements (CAAs) to support conservation and resource management objectives on National Wildlife Refuge System lands. These agreements aim to facilitate the production or modification of specific cover types, the cultivation of foods for wildlife, and the maintenance or reestablishment of natural habitats. CAAs involve substantial collaboration between the Service and the participant, which can include cost-sharing of crop yields, use of Service water or equipment, and provision of labor or materials by the cooperator in exchange for incentives or fees. This is a non-financial assistance program, meaning no Federal funds are directly obligated or awarded to participants. The agreements are designed to foster relationships with local communities and landowners while achieving specific wildlife and habitat management goals.
