Description
The City of Danville is soliciting a contractor for turnkey data-network installation at an aviation training facility shared by Danville Community College and Averett University, including Hangars 100 and 300. The scope includes labor, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, permits, Cat 6e plenum-rated cable drops, wireless access-point cabling, stainless-steel faceplates, labeling, testing, and digital certifications. Fiber links between the building and hangars are excluded and will be provided by the general contractor. The contractor must install network racks and patch panels, two 48U open racks in the main IT closet, two 12U enclosed lockable wall racks in the hangars, an HPE Aruba CX 6405 v2 switch with two 48-port modules, and six HPE 500-series access points. Refurbished networking hardware is acceptable, but warranty coverage must be identified. The awarded contractor must maintain a Virginia low-voltage systems contractor license. The proposal must address company history, qualifications and similar projects from the past five years with client references, project approach, schedule, itemized pricing, and willingness to participate in an on-site interview. One original and three hard copies are required for paper submission; electronic submission is also permitted through eVA, but vendors must choose only one method. The opportunity is a re-bid, with proposals due October 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
