Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District is seeking to prequalify local sources for the upcoming FY27 maintenance-dredging solicitation at Yokohama North Dock. The work involves removing naturally recurring sand, silt, and clay sediments from the United States Exclusive Use Area, including Berths 1–7 and A–L, using conventional hydraulic or mechanical dredging methods, followed by transportation and disposal of dredged material. The project magnitude is estimated at ¥1,000,000,000 to ¥2,500,000,000. Only contractors that receive a “GO” for eligibility and “ACCEPTABLE” ratings for relevant dredging experience and proven competence will be invited to the subsequent IFB. Contractors must hold a Japanese civil construction license, demonstrate at least one qualifying prime dredging project completed in Japan within the preceding 10 years with a value of at least ¥500,000,000 or the equivalent of $3,000,000, and provide verifiable satisfactory past-performance information. The subsequent solicitation is anticipated for November 2026 and will use FAR Part 14 sealed bidding procedures.
