Description
The City of Yreka is soliciting sealed bids for a bituminous Stress Absorbing Membrane consisting of a field-blended asphalt-rubber binder and hot pre-coated 3/8-inch aggregate on approximately 64,000 square yards of city streets and 3,500 square yards of City Hall parking-lot surfaces. The work includes asphalt-rubber chipseal, fog seal, sand cover material, aggregate spreading, rolling, sweeping, traffic control, and associated labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals. The specified field-blend asphalt-rubber product is required; substitutions or modifications will not be considered before award. Addendum No. 1 assigns street preparation and project outreach, notification, and traffic-control coordination to the City and adds sand-cover-material line items to each work section. The revised bid schedule must be submitted with the bid, and receipt of Addendum No. 1 must be acknowledged. Bidders must hold a valid California Class A General Engineering contractor's license at award and comply with California Department of Industrial Relations registration requirements. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is required for prime contractors, and the bid must include 10% bid security. The successful bidder must furnish 100% performance and payment bonds, a 50% maintenance bond, and required insurance. Work must begin within 15 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed and be completed within 90 working days. Reclaimed tire rubber must originate and be processed in California.
