Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to furnish labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, permits, transportation, testing, disposal, and related services for the safe removal of abandoned telecommunications infrastructure at the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The scope includes cabinets, racks, control panels, power supplies, copper, fiber-optic, coaxial and low-voltage cabling, exposed conduit, junction boxes, cable trays, supports, and cable-pressurization systems. The contractor must verify that equipment is abandoned, protect active telecommunications, fire alarm, security, nurse-call, building-automation, paging, and other critical systems, coordinate work and outages with VA personnel, patch and restore disturbed finishes, haul and properly dispose of removed materials, provide waste documentation and before-and-after photographs, and complete final inspection and closeout activities. The amendment provides updated equipment quantities and photographs, confirms that Service Contract Act Wage Determination 2015-4281 applies, and extends the response deadline to October 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Required submittals include a demolition work plan, project schedule/phasing plan, safety plan, lockout/tagout procedures, disposal plan, restoration materials, waste documentation when applicable, and past-performance information.
