Description
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada requires a contractor to develop, calibrate, evaluate, and apply field-scale process-based crop and agroecosystem simulation models using measured soil, crop, nutrient, management, weather, soil-moisture, and geospatial datasets from research fields in Manitoba. The work must assess crop productivity, soil-water dynamics, evapotranspiration, nutrient cycling and nitrogen/phosphorus loss indicators, and long-term soil-carbon dynamics at whole-field and management-zone scales. The contractor will evaluate cash-crop systems and scenarios involving cover crops, perennial phases, alternative rotations, climate variability, and projected climate conditions using DSSAT or an equivalent model such as EPIC, APEX/ArcAPEX, DNDC, DayCent, STICS, APSIM, or RZWQM. The scope includes data preparation and quality control, model configuration, calibration and evaluation, agrohydrologic parameterization, scenario simulations, geospatial and statistical analysis, reproducible workflows, technical reports, data packages, and two draft scientific manuscripts. Work must be performed at the contractor’s site, with no required travel. The initial contract period is December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027, with an irrevocable option for one additional one-year period. Selection will use a highest combined rating of technical merit and price, weighted 70% technical merit and 30% price; proposals must achieve at least 140 of 200 technical points.
