Description
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks a designer to upgrade mechanical system components and cooling towers serving the Stokely Management Center chiller plant, including replacement of two chillers. The project also includes connecting the chiller plants serving the Stokely Management Center, Haslam Business, and Student Union into a shared loop with piping, pumping, and controls, and replacing HVAC controls. The designer’s team should include all disciplines required for basic services; additional-service consultants for movable equipment, data/AV, surveys, geotechnical services, hazardous-material testing, and future construction testing should be identified with relevant experience. The estimated total project cost is $2.5 million, the maximum allowable construction cost is $2.2 million, and the stated designer fee is $185,366. The design schedule is December 2026 through mid-February 2027, with construction desired to be substantially complete by June 2027.
