Description
The University of Massachusetts is soliciting an indefinite-quantity contractor to perform hardscape maintenance and repair on an as-needed, per-call basis. The scope includes repair of cast-in-place and bituminous concrete surfaces, curbs, steps, ramps, platforms, aprons, roads, parking lots, and walkways; pavement marking and striping; sealcoating; milling and installation of bituminous concrete; excavation and installation of base materials; drainage and manhole work; granite curb work; loaming and seeding; cobblestone pavers; safety rails; construction fencing; installation of benches, receptacles, bicycle racks, and bollards; and concrete or granite stairs. Work will be issued through delivery/order forms, with no guaranteed volume. The anticipated annual volume is approximately $3,000,000, and projects estimated above $150,000 are excluded from this contract. The initial contract period is November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2027, with two additional one-year renewal options, ending no later than October 31, 2029. Services are primarily for the Amherst Campus, with possible work at facilities in Belchertown, Deerfield, Hadley, Wareham, Gloucester, and Newton. The solicitation requires prevailing-wage construction, a 5% bid deposit, performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the estimated annual volume, insurance, OSHA training, contractor qualifications, references, safety documentation, and a maximum 25-page bid response. Bids must be submitted electronically through the UMass Supplier Portal by October 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. EDT; hard copies are not accepted.
