Description
The University of Chicago is expanding its vendor pool for planned, unit-specific predictive and preventive maintenance of data center cooling equipment, as well as major maintenance, repairs, upgrades, corrective work, troubleshooting, and emergency maintenance. The scope also includes controls, safety, and functional testing; coordination with accredited laboratories for compressor oil, water treatment, and antifreeze sampling and analysis; and vibration analysis. Interested firms must have at least 10 years of relevant data center experience, employ appropriately certified technicians or engineers (including current EPA 608 certification), be signatory to the Fitters Union, provide foreman, journeyman, and apprentice labor hours with the proposal, maintain a written safety plan, and be able to carry at least $1 million in general liability insurance. Higher education experience is preferred but not mandatory. The notice requests firms to submit interest by email to be included in the forthcoming RFP; it does not provide the RFP submission requirements.
