Description
El Segundo Unified School District is soliciting bids for repairs to the boys' and girls' restrooms at Richmond Street Elementary School and installation of a new drinking fountain. Work includes removal and replacement of restroom wall and floor finishes, toilet accessories, toilet partitions, floor drain adjustments, waterproofing, plumbing fixtures, and associated plumbing and site work. The contractor must also remediate identified mold affecting less than 100 square feet and replace affected drywall, with demolition and mold remediation scheduled during the November 16–18, 2026 Thanksgiving break. The drinking fountain work includes connecting to the nearest water and sewer points, providing underground conduit and electrical conductors, and restoring disturbed landscape and hardscape. The solicitation requires a Class B or C-8 California contractor license, prevailing-wage and public-works compliance, a 10% bid bond, and 100% performance and payment bonds from the successful bidder. The contract documents also specify insurance requirements, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation, employers' liability, sexual abuse/molestation coverage, and builder's risk.
