Description
The City seeks ongoing maintenance, emergency repair, and improvements for its traffic signals and related equipment, including rectangular rapid flashing beacons, flashing beacons, school-zone flashers, radar speed displays, and parking-lot floodlights. Work includes inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, controller adjustments and reprogramming, equipment replacement, and installation or relocation of signal equipment. The contractor must provide 24/7 emergency response, with a normal service-call response time under two hours, and must be qualified on the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s approved traffic signal maintenance contractor list. Licensed electricians with at least two years of traffic-signal experience are required. The City supplies principal stock; the contractor provides labor, equipment, and authorized supplementary materials. The contract is for one year, with two optional one-year renewals.
