Description
Elkhart County Highway Department Project 25003 covers intersection improvements at CR 22/Orpha Drive and CR 37 in Middlebury, Indiana. The work includes widening and reconstructing the intersection, relocating the Pumpkinvine crossing, constructing sanitary sewer, relocating water facilities, drainage improvements, pavement removal and installation, HMA and concrete pavement, sidewalks, riprap, seeding, signage, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic. The revised itemized proposal includes 60 bid items, including construction engineering, mobilization, earthwork, subgrade treatment, aggregate, asphalt, concrete approaches, sanitary sewer piping and laterals, manholes, water valve adjustment, a fire hydrant assembly, erosion-control-related work, traffic-control devices, road closures, detour markers, signs, barricades, and pavement markings. Bidders must acknowledge all addenda, submit a list of similar projects completed within the last two years with scope, bidder-performed work, contract amount, and owner contacts, and identify proposed subcontractors. The bid bond is 10% of the total bid. Construction may begin on or after April 5, 2027; substantial completion is scheduled for August 6, 2027, and final completion for September 3, 2027.
