Description
The City of Charlottesville is seeking a contractor for renovation of its Public Utilities Dispatch Office in the Public Works Admin Building. The work includes demolition; salvage and reinstallation of fixtures; cutting and patching; masonry and drywall repairs; removal and replacement of flooring, ceilings, doors, walls, finishes, lighting, electrical components, and HVAC elements; polished concrete flooring; site protection; dust control; cleaning; and project management. The facility will remain occupied and operational, with dispatch personnel temporarily relocated during construction. The contractor must hold an appropriate Virginia Class A, B, or C contractor license, coordinate work around ongoing operations, comply with applicable safety and environmental requirements, provide product data and material safety data sheets, and complete the work according to the stated schedule: work may begin November 6, 2026, substantial completion is required by January 8, 2027, and final completion by January 15, 2027. The contractor must also provide a one-year warranty and meet the specified insurance, licensing, supervision, scheduling, and closeout requirements.
