Description
The Bergen County Utilities Authority is pre-purchasing two complete gravity thickener mechanisms for existing 65-foot-diameter tanks at its Little Ferry Water Pollution Control Facility. Each mechanism must be a center-column, side-feed, peripheral-overflow unit with a center drive, four rake arms, electric motor, controls, and associated components, designed for 200,000 foot-pounds of continuous torque and a 400,000 foot-pound momentary peak torque. The scope includes a spare parts package, 3D scanning and field verification of existing tank geometry, delivery, storage inspections, and equipment-supplier field services for installation supervision, adjustment, testing, and training. The solicitation permits approved equals but requires detailed equivalency documentation with the bid. The successful contractor must provide a 100% supply bond valid for 24 months after final equipment delivery, a minimum 24-month equipment warranty, manufacturer qualifications and similar-installation references, and compliance with specified New Jersey, Buy American, American Iron and Steel, prevailing-wage, and insurance requirements. Installation itself is performed under a separate contract, while the equipment supplier provides supervision and related field support.
